1stACT (Arts, Creativity, Technology) Silicon Valley is a cross-sector collaborative, working to make Silicon Valley look and feel as special as it is. Engaging a broad and diverse network of regional leaders, 1stACT Silicon Valley’s mission is to inspire leadership, participation and investment at the intersection of art and technology. The four initiatives of 1stACT Silicon Valley are working to build creative environments and experiences that will connect diverse communities and maintain the competitive edge of Silicon Valley. This requires the development of investment and leadership. The 1stACT Silicon Valley initiatives include 1) Cultural Participation — expanding the breadth and depth of cultural participation, creative expression, and cultural connections throughout Silicon Valley; 2) Creative Place – working to create a sense of place and attract creative people and ideas by advocating for Silicon Valley amenities and environments that fuel our creativity and make us want to live here; 3) Funding Model — revolutionizing the arts sector donor engagement and financing model; and 4) Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute — fueling the diversity of arts, connecting and building community across cultures in Silicon Valley, and strengthening our multicultural arts leadership.
