Montalvo Arts Center

Montalvo Arts Center is a non-profit contemporary arts organization dedicated to engaging the community through global talent, forging meaningful connections between art, artists and the communities we serve. Established in 1930 and located in Saratoga, a city within the greater San Francisco Bay Area, Montalvo has served the region as a center of creativity offering exceptional opportunities for involvement with the arts to diverse audiences and participants for over seventy-five years. Through its Sally and Don Lucas Artist Residency, the visual and performing arts, public programs, education and outreach efforts, Montalvo connects the larger national and international arena of exemplary artistic talent with the local community. Montalvo fosters creativity, nurtures new talent and spurs active engagement with the arts through commissions of new and unusual work, presentation of acclaimed and emerging artistic talent, and implementation of its arts education and outreach initiative. The Center’s facilities include a historic Villa, an art gallery, an artist residency complex, two theaters (indoor and an outdoor amphitheatre), and a 175-acre park with hiking trails and formal gardens.
