Science & Technology Council
Mission
To advise the Climate Clock Leadership Team on categories and sources of climate change science information and data, and the challenges of sustainable measurement, data capture, data management, interpretation, and security.
Goals
- Assist the Leadership Team and artists with the Climate Clock's transition from concept to realization.
- Help ensure that all of the instances of the Climate Clock use data that has integrity, reliability, consistency, and longetivity.
- Assist with the flow of communications between the artists and scientific and engineering advisors.
Roles
- Provide the best thinking in measurement technology and tools.
- Identify technology challenges associated with the design, operation, and maintenance of climate clocks.
- Identify sources of technology and measurement data that could be of use to the teams designing climate clocks.
- Nominate jurors, reviewers, and commentators with technical expertise.
- Help jurors recognize good strategies proposed by the artists. Look for credible science and inspiring technology.
- Assist with recruiting technologists to work with artists as they design their works of landmark art.
- Invite the participation of science and technology organizations in the Climate Clock Initiative.
